Notes Praise be to God alone             and may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his family, our master, and replace our father, the jurist, the earthly Pasha, the happiest, the most blessed, the most glorious, Sir Idris Al-Sarraj, may God protect you and take care of you, and may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory and after his death. Our master knew that yesterday a company of horses, about twenty horsemen, came and the road was blocked for our master Idris between us and Musawa, and they thought that there were people from whom nothing had come in the middle of the gardens. And during the day, at the time of the afternoon prayer, he found him among the animals in the gardens, and the people were calling for their splendor, heedless, and a crowd of about seventeen large animals, and among them were camels of what you had lost, until they walked, so they satiated them, and they struck among them opportunities, so here he is with the one who struck him, and they were still horses, and this is how it happened to us last year, when they attacked us and we attacked them. We ordered the return of what we had plundered to them, and the perpetrators are fighting and puppies, so we love you, sir, the caliph of our master, with this. We committed what they promised to our livestock. We are not to blame for that. We look to you for your service and peace
