Praise be to God alone. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, the jurist. Blessing, the best, the best religion, the best. The long-lived Pasha, Sir Idris al-Sarraj. May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you. On the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory. Then the most honorable one reached your letter that our master, may God grant him victory, carried out to the leader Muhammad the doorman the small house of Ibn Khadah, and informed you that he had left it and entered his big house, and that we explain to you the meaning of that. Know, sir, your clerk was brought before you to the small house, so you empowered him. And he settled in it, then he brought another letter from you also that we would enable him to leave a house other than his master’s, so why did he enter it? Accordingly, if you ordered him to be taken out of it and returned to the small house, then yes, and it is sufficient for me to comply, and for service and peace on the 24th of Muharram al-Haram in the year 1279. Your successor, Mr. Muhammad, may God protect him from it.
