Notes: The book was printed in 6 parts, of which we have Parts 1, 2, 3, and 6. The sixth is truncated at the end (its number of pages is 224, while Al-Manouni’s number is 328 pages). The book was printed by the Al-Amira Press, which was also called the “Saeeda Press” or the “Muhammadiyah Press” in reference to Sultan Muhammad IV, who printed this commentary during his reign (Al-Manouni, Manifestations of the Awakening of Modern Morocco, vol. 1, p. 263). The parts of the book were printed sequentially as follows: vol. 1: 1284 AH/1867 AD, vol. 2: 1285 AH/1868 AD, vol. 3: 1286 AH/1869 AD, vol. 4, 339 pages: 1286 AH/1869 AD, vol. 5, 306 pages: 1287 AH/1870 AD, vol. 6: 1287 AH/1870 AD (Al-Mununi, Mazhar..., vol. 1, p. 269). The writer of this printed version is Abu al-Abbas Ahmad al-Khidr ibn Abd al-Nabi ibn al-Majzoub al-Fasi al-Fihri, who died before he completed writing this explanation of al-Kharshi, so he completed it in his handwriting by his brother Abu Yaqoub Yusuf. Al-Manuni relied for this on the book of the historian Abd al-Rahman ibn Zaidan, “The Scientific Renaissance during the Era of the Alawite State.”
