Sidi Muhammad bin Sidi Abd al-Rahman bin Zakri, may God have mercy on him, recorded on Surat Al-Ikhlas is what states: The reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Ikhlas is that the Jews, and it is said that the polytheists, asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they said, “Describe your Lord for us.”

It was narrated by Ibn al-Sayyid on the authority of the jurists and commentators (...) But people did not limit themselves to reading it, because what is required from reading is reward, contemplation, admonition, deducing rulings, and other things that do not mean the aforementioned Surah, not just reward.
