Praise be to God alone and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, our most glorious master and his descendants, except for what is good. Al-Asaad, the Caliph, Al-Asaad, Al-Arshad Al-Basha, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj. May the peace and mercy of God be upon you for the best of our Lord, may God grant him victory. As for what follows, the soldier whom you commanded me to raise his call with his companions for the law, I raised them and they tried before him and they returned to you after the ruling and I directed them to you with difficulty because they refused to return to your presence and I wrote to you with what appeared. I have among them, and now I know, sir, that Al-Mukhtar is the brother of Sayyid Omar, and he has a well-known spirit that he killed. As for Omar’s brother, he is the one who wrote and the one who bears the book explaining what happened to our sheikh, for he is the informer of the call, his master to Nasir, his cousin’s son, and he helped in the complaint in Marrakesh against our master, may God grant him victory, and he must leave all of what has appeared and do not conceal anything from you. When they returned from you, they started talking in the alleys in the presence of witnesses that the Sheikh’s letter was read to us and we learned what was in it, but it was of no use. And they criticized us for what we wrote to you. As for Alal Ould Al-Arabi bin Abdul Qadir, who broke the reel unjustly on his part and did not dispose of it in storage, this increased his transgression and did not dissuade him from his wrongdoing. We would like, sir, that you do not ignore this, and the matter should be finished with his vision and the answer, so what appeared to our master, may God help you and protect you, and peace, and on the 18th of Safar 1280 Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul-Jabbar Al-Qula’i.
