Praise be to God alone, our lover and servant of our Lord, the jurist, the Pasha, Sidi Idris al-Sarraj. May the peace and mercy of God be upon you for the goodness of our master, may God support him. After the sheikh of the citadel, Abd al-Salam bin Idris, who wrote to you directing him to the Zawiya prison from his destination, is imprisoned, he is in prison. As for the release, neither he nor any other of the prisoners of the sheikhs of the Zarhanah will be released except with your permission, in accordance with your command for us, even if he weighs his name in gold, and searches for us. He was asked about our condition and the covenant we have in that, and I informed you of that so that he may be reassured. May God bless your life, service, love, and peace, 8 Rabi’ 2 in the year 1290.
