Notes
Praise be to God alone May God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his family, the jurist, the long-lasting blessing, the best religion, the best, the honorable and noble Pasha, Sir Idris Al-Sarraj. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you, for the best of our master, may God grant him victory. And after Al-Azaz received your letter, that Muhammad ibn Omar Al-Khulai, the blind man, claimed before you that he had stolen from him a number of the dirhams that were claimed, as in Al-Azir, your letter, and Tariq has a son, Abdul Salam Al-Badri, and another person he knows. Allal Al-Hawari, I know, sir, that Ould Al-Badri was captured and sent to you by his companion. As for the other, his name is Ould Anqanouj, to the attention of Sheikh Ham Belaid Al-Amari in the trenches. And here I informed him about him so that he could arrest him and direct him to you and for service and peace, and on the 30th of Qada 1279.
