Praise be to God alone and His kingdom lasts only for the one whom God honored by blessing him and placed the company of his Prophet’s family in his heart. May God protect him from his enemies, grant him victory over his servants, and make him rule according to the law of his Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God make his company in our hearts at all times. This means the poor just jurist, Mr. Idris al-Sarraj. May the peace, mercy, blessings, greetings, and satisfaction of God be upon you from his cousins. Judge, Mawla Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman, as for what follows, this letter is to you out of love and for a need that has been impossible for us and we cannot find it except with you. We carried it on you and do not accept an excuse from you. When you come, we call it yours and half of it is yours. This burden is not carried by anyone but you. You give me a specific rank at dinner every day. I was an immigrant for the sake of Naqra and I had another rank, but I was unable to do so. I consulted the jurist about this matter and he agreed with me. But make your work for God, and God will reward you. And your work is proven, and this burden is to be carried by yourself, otherwise it is against whomever you have slandered, and we will judge what God asked for it for the sake of love and the answer, with a bearer of the Book, so God will guide you to what is right and peace. 4 The fourth of the second on Wednesday in the year 1278
