The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may his prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Messengers (...) As for what follows, this is a brief explanation of Ibn Malik’s Alfiyyah, well mannered in its aims and clear in its paths, with which its words are understood and whose meanings are memorized, and which expresses the parsing of its verses.
The end of the manuscript: When he completed what he wanted, he concluded his book with prayers upon our Master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and upon his family and companions (...) The author, may God have mercy on him, said: We have achieved what we wanted to gather of explanation and parsing, and we have fulfilled what we were promised at the beginning of the book (...)
