Notes
Praise be to God, our master, brother Amin, the trustees of our best master, my master Muhammad Al-Tazi, may God protect you and may peace and mercy be upon you for the goodness of our Lord, may God support him and grant him victory. And then, may you be generous in your knowledge that the monthly and daily supplies of the high house are in God. If we rely on the father of Muhammad, he pays us the wheat. He takes an order (cutting off) from his watch. Your Excellency ordered him to pay us the wheat. He opened the dumpster yesterday and found it hot. He took out something from it one day, and I found a zadia and its wheat was spoiled. It is suitable for the supply of our master’s family, nor for the supplies of the high and honorable abode, and from tomorrow we will not have any flour available to us, so we ask Your Excellency for permission to plate the wheat of the happy supply that is under our hand, lest the warning come. He is the one who kept us informed. We acted upon it to order us whether to grind from that wheat or buy the flour. Considering your sovereignty, love, honor, consideration for your sovereignty, honorable service, and peace on the 21st of Safar in the year 1320. Al-Mufaddal bin Idris Al-Sarraj, may God bless him
