The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds (...) As for what follows, when I saw the poem of our Sheikh, the Imam Al-Muhaqqiq (...) Muhyiddin Abi Al-Abbas Sidi Ahmad bin Muhammad Al-Buyyaqoubi (...) for the sake of what the aspirant builds his work upon and in which the intention is devoted to God alone, because it is a few verses with many meanings in which it is intended to clarify the path of the knowers and the monotheists and to clarify the method of the walkers and the uninitiated, I began to place a restriction that would be like an explanation of some of its apparent meanings and an explanation of what is available. Its amazing benefits (...) and its name alerts the student to sincere deeds without impurities.
End of the manuscript: Conclusion. Know that I asked our Sheikh Abu Al-Abbas, may God be pleased with him, I mean the compiler of this poem, about the origin of his pure lineage, and he mentioned to me that they are honorable (...) and his birth, may God be pleased with him, was in the year one hundred and forty-first, and he died, may God Almighty have mercy on him and be pleased with him, before dawn on Tuesday, the twenty-seventh of Dhu al-Hijjah, in the year one hundred and thousand ninety-six (...) I completed, with the praise and good help of God, this blessed explanation in the year 1223.
