The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) He said (...) Zain al-Din Abd al-Rahim bin Abi Bakr bin Ibrahim al-Kurdi al-Raziyani al-Masri al-Shafi’i (...) He says, “I am hoping for someone to escape to *** Abd al-Rahim bin al-Hussein, the guilty one. I praise my Lord with the fullest praise *** And prayers and peace be given to His Prophet, and I hope to God *** that what I asked for will be fulfilled by those who compiled the biography of the glorious Prophet *** a millennium containing the destination.
The end of the manuscript: May God’s peace and blessings be upon him *** and his two companions were blessed, and the most blessed of them were the two sleeping ones from the moons *** they lived next to the best neighbor in the grave. Then upon Othman with Ali *** and the rest of the companions and the guardian. The millennium of Zain al-Din al-Iraqi ended (...) in the middle of Rabi’ al-Thani in the year 1192 (…) ended.
