The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master (...) The Sheikh Al-Faqih said (...) Praise be to God who has clothed His saints with robes of virtue, and may blessings and peace be upon our Master (...) As for what follows, since I have tied my garment with my hands (...) I have named this book of mine the elite of the righteous people of the eleventh century.
The end of the manuscript: He said in the copy of it that the book was completed, thanks to God Almighty and his good help at the hands of its author, Muhammad al-Saghir (...) from Marrakesh on the morning of Tuesday the fourteenth of Jumada al-Awwal in the year one hundred and thirty-seven and a thousand and one thousand and thirty-seven and it was copied for him by his student (...) Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah (...) and the completion of its copy was on the morning of Saturday the sixth of Jumada al-Akhirah of the blessed year of the year one thousand and thirty-eight. May God bless them with his blessings. It ended as it was found.
