Notes
Praise be to God alone. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master and the family of our master, the earthly jurist, Pasha al-Murtada, the servant of the highest station in God, Sir Idris al-Sarraj. May God grant you success in what pleases him. May God’s peace and mercy be upon you for the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory. Then let it be known, my master, that a poor man married a man and gave away something to him. His daughter was a young virgin. When he did the wedding and entered into it, he found the bride wearing a garment, so they asked her about the one who did it, so she confessed to herself that she was innocent. A man from Bani Ammar was the one who did it. They lived with him in his house and they spoiled it against her will. See, sir, may God’s blessings and peace be upon you. On the 23rd of Rabi’ al-Thani, 1279, Belaid al-Ammari’s family, may God grant him success.
