Notes
Your Excellency the President, if the most valuable opportunity is presented to the municipality of the prosperous city of Casablanca by your auspicious visit, I therefore entreat Your Excellency to honor it and condescend to lay the first stone to build the edifice of Blida, which is increasingly honored by the fact that you, Your Excellency the President, are the first to establish its policies. This municipal palace will be a symbol of the example of the thought of the French half and the genius of its men, to match the fame, progress and elevation that this vibrant city has achieved, and the fact that this active city has advanced merit has lost water. Its residents feel as if they are swimming in a sea of imagination. For a short time, they have known this city in its rags, and they themselves today see its palaces rising to the clouds, in which the genius of the noble French people and their continuous diligence are dried up. And that is only with the great remainder, and it is impossible in the magnificent republican state and the precious subsidies it provides. It will become more prosperous with your auspicious visit, on which the noble family has foraged. Let the firstborn become a destination to keep the state alive. Under the protection of the state of knowledge and gratitude, long live the French Republic, long live the honorable state, long live His Excellency the honorable President, Monsieur Duverque, and may glory and denunciation of His Majesty our Lord the Imam be extended. It was delivered on Wednesday, October 5, 1930.
