Chapter 1 and part of Chapter 2 contain an interlinear translation into English in the hand of Sanskrit scholar and Calcutta Judge Sir William Jones. Title page in Jones's hand: "Observations on the Administration of Government and Justice by the English in India, extracted from the Persian History of Gulam Husein Khan."
