Notes	A volume of a historical work arranged by year, covering the years 825 to 834 of the Hijra. For each year, the caliph and the highest dignitaries of the empire (such as the governor of Damascus, etc.) are listed first. Events that occurred month by month are then discussed and famous people who died in that month are named. A list of the deceased for the entire year, without separation by month, also precedes the history of a year. The handwriting gives the impression of an autograph. In a foreign hand it is referred to as Kitāb Tārīḫ al-islām li-l-Ḏahabī on folio 1a. However, this information cannot be correct since al-Ḏahabī died in 748. In the Pertsch catalog, further speculations are made about the author of the manuscript, but no author has been definitively determined.
