Notes
The author has stated the reason for writing this as follows: Muhammad Bashir Nazim of the monthly magazine Ahl-i Hadith (Rawalpindi) and S. A. Majeed's letter published in Jang on January 30, 1967, raised objections to the twenty rakʿahs (units of prayer) of tarawih (which is the practice of the Hanafi school of thought), labeling it as innovation (bidʿah) and misguidance (dalalah). In response, the author presented evidence from the practices of the Companions (sahabah) of the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with them all, and the Followers (tabiʿin). He provided arguments to affirm the validity of the Hanafi position and also offered rebuttals to the Rafidis (who deny the practice of tarawih) to make this issue clear. | For information on Mawlana Shaʾistah Gul, also known as Mawlana Sahib, refer to Volume II of ʿUlamaʾ wa-Mashayikh, listed in this collection as 01946. | Digitization for the Sufi Shrine Libraries of the Afghan-Pakistan Frontier collection was sponsored by the Modern Endangered Archives Program with funding from Arcadia. | unknown
