Notes
This is a rare handwritten manuscript of Tuhfat al-Murshid, which is the early 19th century biography of Hazrat Fazl Ahmad, also known as Hazrat Jio or Hazratji Sahab Peshawari. This is one of the most detailed biographies from the period, documenting the close linkages between South and Central Asian spiritual-academic circuits. At the close of the book are biographical entries of Fazl Ahmad's deputies in Central Asia, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. | Miscellany, with additional documents, including two biographies of Fazl Ahmad Peshawari composed by his disciples (one being Tasarrufnama of ʿAbd al-Rahim bin Khan Muhammad Peshawari). Tuhfat al-Murshid text is incomplete, missing final biographies of Fazl Ahmad's khalifahs. | Digitization for the Sufi Shrine Libraries of the Afghan-Pakistan Frontier collection was sponsored by the Modern Endangered Archives Program with funding from Arcadia. | public domain
