He wrote that he received his letter dated 19.07.1916 and two postcards from his father and thanked him. He stated that the money paper had not arrived, that he kissed his mother's eyes, that he was comfortable, that he was painting from morning to evening in an office in the factory, that it had nothing to do with electricity and that there was nothing to worry about. He wrote that he draws with ink and pencil, that he eats morning and evening in an excellent casino, that his expenses are low, that he spends 20 kuruş a week, that he receives 220 kuruş a month from the factory, that he should not think that he is broke, that he can send them if they are broke there, that he does not want Damascus dessert, that there are all kinds of desserts there. He asked them to send some cigarettes and tobacco. The lady sends greetings to her grandmother, Kıymet Hanım, the gentleman to his father, Bahaaddin Bey, Fitnat Hanım, Yahya Bey, Fevziye Hanım, Hakkı Bey, Muzaffer Hanım and Safinaz Hanım. The district governor says he received the news that he had an accident and wants him to visit instead of him. He stated that he sent photographs and wrote letters at the office when he was unemployed. He asks whether his family is in Beşiktaş or where they are. He stated that he had written to the manager and received no response.
