1) an increase in the number of Persians migrating across the Gulf to the

, Sharjah in particular. This correspondence includes discussions regarding British concerns about the political consequecnes of this development (ff 2, 18-26).
2) a desire to replace a Persian employed at the Lighthouse Department on Tamb [Tunb] island with an Arab from Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah and the subsequent appointment of a man named Hassan bin Ibrahim, also referred to as Hassan bin Abdullah (ff 5-17).
