The file contains correspondence in the form of letters, reports, and telegrams between British officials, the Sultan of Muscat, the Imam of Oman and notable local Omani shaikhs. The correspondence is mainly concerned with the rising of the Imam of Oman, Salim bin Rashid al-Kharusi, against the Sultan of Muscat and Oman, Taimur bin Fayṣal bin Turki al-Bu Sa‘idi, in 1915. British officials offered to interfere between the Sultan and the Imam Government in order to reach a peaceful agreement between the two parties.
