Abbas Meerza raises the stipulation in Anglo-Persian treaty relations [the Definitive Treaty of 1814] for the provision of a subsidy from Britain to Persia [Iran] in the event of Russian aggression leading to the outbreak of war between Russia and Persia. He requests that the subsidy be paid, on account of the ongoing war between Russia and Persia [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828] and his responsibility, and urgent need, to pay for Persia’s war effort.
