of the East India Company, written in the month of Sufr [Safar] AH 1242 [c September 1826] (IOR/L/PS/9/70/130 (1)), and a translation of the letter (IOR/L/PS/9/70/130 (2)). In the letter, Futteh Ali Shah praises the conduct of HM Chargé d'Affaires to Persia, Henry Willock, for his services to the Persian army and in his capacity as Chargé d’Affaires, on the occasion of Willock’s return to England due to his replacement as the British representative in Persia by the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir.
