Notes A letter from the Shah of Persia [Iran] [Fath-‘Ali Shāh Qājār] to the Chairman of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company (IOR/L/PS/9/70/191(1)), and a translation of the letter (IOR/L/PS/9/70/191(2)). In the letter, the Shah petitions on behalf of Captain Isaac Hart, who has been in Persia training Persian troops. The Shah expresses his approbation for the services rendered by Captain Hart and requests that he receive the same ‘approbation and rewards’ as other officers who have been similarly engaged in Persia, who have been ‘munificently rewarded’ for their services by the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. .
