Codex, ink, colours and gold on paper, modern coated linen (red buckram) binding, 203 folios, Arabic text in naskh and thuluth scripts, with illuminated headings (fols. 4v, 5r) and roundels (shamsa, fols. 5r, 6r), and red diagrams and tables throughout, collection (majmū`) of texts on occult scientific systems of geomancy (`ilm al-raml) and other divination methods (incomplete text, with many folios out of sequence), (1: fols. 2v-4v) Ikhtiyārāt al-ayyām, (2: fols. 6r-40v) Ijtimā` al-shaml fī ṭarīq `ilm al-raml, (3: fols. 41r-203v) al-Ḥukm `ala al-ashkāl al-ramlīya wa tarḥīlihā fī al-buyūt al-sitta `ashar min kalām al-Ḥukamā’ al-Arba`, noted as produced for the treasury (bi-rasm khizānat, fol. 6r) of Mamluk Sultan Qaytbay (r. 1468-1496), and ordered from/by the personal library (ashāra bi-kātibihi al-maqarr al-ashraf, fols. 5r, 8v)of Yashbak Min Mahdī Dawādār (d. 1480, one of Qaytbay’s principal amirs), copied by Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Ḥasanī al-mukattib (al-Farnawī, d. 1500), student (tilmidh) of Burhān al-Dīn al-mukattib, probably Cairo, Egypt, dated 883H (fol. 4v), 1478-1479.
