The Quraysh of Mecca led captive from the Battle of Badr (624), from The Life of the Prophet (Siyer-i nebi), by Mustafa Darir. Folio, ink, colours and gold on paper, Turkish text in naskh script, and painting (on verso), from Siyar-i Nabi (Life of the Prophet) by Mustafa Darir, volume 4 of a 6-volume commission ordered by Ottoman Sultan Murad III, and presented to Sultan Mehmet III, copied by Mustafa ibn Vali, Istanbul, dated 1003H, 1594-1595.
