Forty Traditions (Arba`ūn Ḥadīth), by Jāmī. Codex, ink, colours and gold on paper, 9 folios, Arabic and Persian text in nasta`liq script, with illuminated heading (sarlawh, fol. 1v), gold-flecked borders throughout, Forty Traditions (Arba`ūn Ḥadīth), Hadith quotations in larger Arabic text followed by Persian paraphrase and commentary in smaller script, composed 1481 by `Abd al-Raḥmān Nūr al-Dīn Jāmī (1414-1492), copied and signed (fol. 8v) by Shāh Maḥmūd Nishapūrī, Tabriz, Iran, dated 950H, 1543-1544.
