Notes Qur'ān from Seljuk Konya This beautiful Qur'ān is richly illuminated with full page compositions at the start and finish of the codex. Both the calligrapher and illuminator sign their names at the end, also giving the date of completing the book, and their location in Konya (Turkey). Their patron Sayf al-Milla was in the entourage of the Seljuk minister Ṣāḥib Atā (d. 1288). Codex, ink, gold and colours on paper, leather binding with tooled decoration, 335 folios, Arabic text in naskh script, with illuminated frontispiece (fols. 1r-3r) and finispiece pages (fols. 328v-333r), and marginal markers throughout, complete text of the Qur'ān, copied by al-Ḥasan ibn Jūbān ibn `Abdullāh al-Qūnawī (from Konya), illumination signed Mukhliṣ ibn `Abdullāh al-Hindī (both signatures on fols. 329v-330r), dedicated to Sayf al-Milla wa al-Dawla wa al-Dīn Sunqur ibn `Abdullāh al-Ṣāḥibī (fols. 332v-333r), from the entourage of Seljuk minister Fakhr al-Dīn `Alī known as Ṣāḥib Atā (d. 1288), Konya, Turkey, dated (fol. 330r) 30 Rabi` II 677H, 19 September 1278.
