Notes	Papyrus letters in fragments: something happened. Fifteen folio fragments, ink on dark brown papyrus, mounted on paper and framed under glass, Arabic text, written with a thin pen perpendicular to the fibres on recto, and parallel to the fibres on verso, all fragments from the same single folio, two separate letters, (recto:) letter referring to something that happened “today” (fī hādhā al-yawm), and hoping that something else will happen God-willing (in shāʾa allāh), (verso:) letter referring to individuals (al-Ḥusayn, Muḥammad, Abū `Alī), unsigned, Egypt, undated, c. 800-900.
