Notes Papyrus list of names and payments, written in Coptic. This document is organised in two columns, consisting of personal names on the left followed by amounts on the right, using Greek letters as numerals. This relates to fiscal administration, recording land measures, tax payments or some other contribution imposed on the individuals listed in the first column. Some names and amounts are marked with an oblique stroke, as a tick or check mark. Some names are preceded by "ar" possibly an abbreviation of the content measurement unit "artabe" or the surface measurement unit "aroura", both of which fit the context of agricultural taxes. On the recto side, some names can be read, for example on column one: Mōne (line 1), George (line 2), Apollo (lines 3, 5), line 6 Ioannes de deacon (daikon, line 6), and on column two: George (line 8); Phib (line 9). Folio fragment, ink on medium brown papyrus, mounted on paper and framed under glass, original cutting lines preserved on the top, left and right sides, Coptic text, written in reddish-brown ink with a thin pen perpendicular to the papyrus fibres on the recto and parallel to the fibres on verso, two columns of personal names and amounts, documenting financial arrangements, text uses Greek letters as numerals and oblique strokes as check marks, recto and verso contain parts of the same text, unsigned, Egypt, undated, 700-900.
