Notes
Prince with his falconers, from Rosary of the Pious (Subḥat al-abrār) by Jāmī (d. 1492). A young prince on horseback is attended by servants, carrying his wine-flask and a parasol. Before him stand two falconers with their birds, one holding a freshly-caught rabbit. Folio, ink, colours and gold on paper, gold-painted floral designs with owner notes (on recto) and full-page painting (on verso), right half of double page frontispiece, from Rosary of the Pious (Subḥat al-Abrār) by Nūr al-Dīn `Abd al-Raḥmān Jāmī (d. 1492), detached from codex CBL Per 238, Bukhara, Uzbekistan, undated, c. 1560-1570.
