Notes	The Fairy Queen Turktāz welcomes Turktāzī to her magical court, from the Five Poems (Khamsa) by Niẓāmī. The fourth poem in Niẓāmī’s Khamsa is titled the Seven Beauties (Haft Paykar). This is a set of seven fantasy tales, told to the Iranian king Bahrām Gūr. The king had married seven princesses from around the world, and visited each one on a different night of the week. On Saturday he visited his Indian wife, and she told him the following story. A man found a magical way to visit an all-female court of beautiful fairies. Sadly, his rising hopes for romance with the Fairy Queen herself were abruptly disappointed.
