Notes	Portrait of a Safavid official. This finely-observed portrait shows a well-dressed, bearded man with blue eyes and a piercing gaze. The set of his shoulders may show a spinal disability. His striped turban and fur-lapelled blue coat suggest wealth, and his slight frown suggests power. Album folio, colours and gold on paper, mounted on pink card, painting of a man in striped turban and gold brocaded blue coat with fur lapels, holding a rod, unsigned, within ruled borders on bright pink paper frame, then purple paper frame, all mounted on pink card album page, blank paper verso, Isfahan, Iran, c. 1650-1700.
