Codex, ink, colours and gold on paper, with varnished lacquer pasteboard and leather covers, 18 folios, Arabic and Persian text in naskh and nasta`liq scripts, with illuminated title heading (sarlawh, fol. 1v) and text frames throughout, and gold-flecked borders of pink, cream, blue, purple, green and yellow paper, One Hundred Sayings of Imām `Alī (Ṣad Kalima), with quotes in Arabic followed by paraphrases in Persian, the Arabic lines signed by Muḥammad Mu’min ibn `Abdullāh al-Bayānī (d. 1510) and the Persian lines by Shāh Maḥmūd al-Nīshāpūrī, possibly Tabriz, Iran, c. 1500-1510.
