The Safavid Empire intends to strenghten its relations with the Netherlands. In his letter the Persian envoy Musa Bayg asks the Staten-Generaal to intensify their trading activities in Iran. He also reports on the miltary conflict with the Portuguese at Hurmuz and mentions the treaty with the British East India Company.The date refers to the delivery of the letter to the Staten-Generaal.
