| Notes | Mir Sharif Hajji al-Haramayn has sent a letter (maktub) from Syria in which he declares a shop (uskunah-yi yak bab-i dukkan) near the Madrasa Kukaldash to be converted into vaqf on behalf of the Madrasa's students. The mutavalli of the Madrasa's endowments ascertains the validity of this "vaqf by mail" and receives a respective verdict (hukm). Fond No. I-17.Op. 1. D.32601. P.7.A set of documents, prepared by Dr. Uktambek Sultonov (Tashkent Institute for Oriental Studies, Centre for Oriental Manuscripts) for asnad.org as part of a research project on the endowments of the Kukaldash Madrasah in Tashkent. His research stay in Marburg was funded by the DAAD. |
