The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God alone (...) The lineage of our Master (...) My Excellency, Mawlana Zaidan, son of our Master, Commander of the Faithful, Father of Redemption, Maulana Ismail, may God support him and grant him victory (...) Goodness dictates and passion writes *** Two things, each of them amazing. How much is there between casting a player in love *** and playing in love?
End of the manuscript: This is a poem by Muslim Ibn al-Walid al-Lamiyah praising Yazid ibn Mazyad al-Shaybani, may God have mercy on him. And from the Book of Songs (...) the first of which is: I drew a lascivious rope in my youth, spinning *** and I turned away the sorrows of humiliation from humiliation (...) so be proud, for you have nothing like *** in Shayban. Likewise, there is nothing like that in Banu Shayban. I completed. |
