The subject of cooperative underwater wireless communication systems has gained great importance in recent years. In particular, the fact that underwater acoustic channels are sparse and the additive noise entering the system is colored Gaussian noise makes the estimation of underwater channels very difficult and interesting from a theoretical point of view. In this study, the channel estimation problem is solved by using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based matching pursuit (MP) algorithm, in which the transmission from the source to the target receiver is made through the relay, and high error performance is achieved in the results obtained.
