Sample Text Technological developments that gained momentum in the 21st century have affected libraries as well as every other field. In parallel with these developments, libraries and information professionals have encountered different needs of users in this century. Meeting users' desires to access services quickly, easily and seamlessly has been a major factor of change, especially for academic libraries. This change; It includes elements such as access to information, format changes in resources, open access movement, changing library spaces, service independent of time and place, institutional archive, and publication analysis. By adapting to this change, librarians have acquired new titles and specialized in different areas such as contributing to the measurement of academic performances, providing information literacy services integrated with courses, and using social media effectively. Librarians, who have the basic competencies necessary to meet the needs of users, have encountered new opportunities and challenges with the trends of the current century. In this study, the effects of trends on academic libraries in the 21st century and the opportunities and challenges faced by librarians are emphasized, and the questions raised by the process are tried to be answered.
