| Sample Text | Regression testing of large-scale software systems is costly. Due to resource constraints, it is often not possible to evaluate all test cases. Therefore, it is necessary to prioritize test cases to detect errors as quickly as possible. In this work, we propose a method for prioritizing test cases based on analysis of the amount of errors detected in the past. The extent to which this analysis focuses on the recent or distant past can be adapted as a parameter of the method. We compared the effectiveness of the resulting rankings by prioritizing regression tests for a digital TV software with various parameter values. We have seen that our method allows us to obtain more effective rankings in terms of error detection rate compared to the current ranking. |
