This paper aims to present various grid-connected electric vehicle (EV) charger topologies with battery technologies and power electronics converters utilized in bidirectional EV chargers including DC/DC synchronous buck boost converters, three-phase AC/DC PWM converters. Types of batteries used in modern electric vehicles and the most critical parameters for them are also presented. When three-phase bidirectional EV chargers are connected to the electricity grid, they can provide power flow between the vehicle battery and the grid in both directions so it would be crucial to regulate power converters, that provide AC/DC conversion for charging/discharging, for proper operation of the grid-To-battery power system.
