The cotton fabric is folded along the bottom of the bag, so the border appears only on 3 sides. It is needleweaving with silver metal thread in a pattern of X-motifs alternating with stepped lozenges. The main panel of the bag is pulled thread work using silver metal thread to form a square grid with a rosette in each square. A lining of red silk can be seen through the grid. There are traces of dark silk used as a fine border either side of the needlewoven border.
