WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 14 threads per inch (52 per dm). WEFT: dark orange wool; Z spun, unplied; 1 thread per shoot (check), 4 shoots after each row of knots. 8/9 knots per inch (30-38) per dm. PILE: wool; 10 colours: red, dark orange, light orange, yellow, dark green, dark blue, blue, light blue, dark brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 59 knots per sq. inch (1200 per sq. dm.) SIDE FINISH: a web of 5 threads of return weft, 1 cm. wide, turned back and stitched. END FINISH: Lower: cut, Upper: cut DESIGN: Field: diagonal lattice with each diamond outlined in dark brown and containing a cross in various colours outlined in various colours. Main border: white ground with single diamonds of various colours outlined and linked in dark brown. Guard stripes: inner has blue and red squares outlined in dark brown. Outer has light blue and dark orange squares in dark brown. Catalogue date: 27.2.91.
Üretim
Saddle Bags cut in Museums and the other fronts transferred to circulation 25th Jan. 1924. They have been numbered Circ. 316, 317 and 318-1924. Caucasian (Kazak) middle of 19th century. Comparisons not yet possible to make from published material. However: NB. Hali Issue 93 (1997) p. 109 advert. by Ronnie Newman for colour, design (and spirit). Also, elsewhere in Hali, mention of longer pile and soft/floppy character of Zakatala weavings (N.
