Ms. 916) mistakenly inserted after the opening leaf of the Bahai text (see p.3) ; pages between sections of second work (Madkhal al-falsafah al-ḥadīthah) left fully or partially blank to serve as 'title pages' (see pp.45, 65, 85, 105, 125, 145, 161 ), irregular internal pagination, Hindu-Arabic numerals, in some sections ; pagination in pencil (entire volume), Western numerals, supplied during digitization., Layout: Written in mainly 16 and 26 lines per page., Script: Ruqʻah ; two quick, modern hands in a medium to bold line ; serifless and freely ligatured with mainly closed counters, slight effect of words descending to baseline, pointing somewhat careless and in strokes rather than distinct dots., Support: Each section in a distinct type of paper ; section carrying opening work mainly on a coated laid paper stamped "محل محمود محمد الوكيل وفرحات ابراهيم بمصر" with a few sheets of lined wove paper mixed in ; section carrying second work on lined / ruled wove paper., Binding: Boards covered in dark green cloth with dark green leather over spine (quarter binding) ; pastedowns and flyleaves in wove paper printed with a floral vegetal pattern in green ; spine gold-stamped with title and decorative accents over raised bands "مدخل الفلسفة الحديثة | J.H.D." ; sewing difficult to examine ; stuck-on endbands (blue and white stripe) ; overall in fairly good condition., Former shelfmark: Mich.
