Biyografi veya Tarihçe
Né à Paris en 1858, Edouard Blanc rédigea ses premières études sur la flore et la géographie de l'Afrique du Nord alors qu'il était chargé par l'administration des ponts et chaussées de s'occuper des oasis tunisiennes. Il fut ensuite à plusieurs reprises chargé de représenter la Société de géographie, notamment à l'exposition de Tachkent. Il rapporta des notes sur la flore et la faune, l'archéologie, et étudia la possibilité de l'établissement de voies ferrées en Asie centrale. Il fit un autre voyage dans cette région entre 1894 et 1895, puis un voyage d'études en Tunisie. Il mourut à Paris en 1923. ( Dictionnaire de Biographie française , VI, p. 579).

Manuscrits déposés à la Bibliothèque nationale par Edouard Blanc (1858-1923) en 1897. Don enregistré en 1930. Le catalogue manuscrit et les notices de G. Vajda indiquent que ces manuscrits proviennent de Transoxiane . Ilsont été rapportés par Edouard Blanc de ses voyages en Asie Centrale .
