Biyografi veya Tarihçe
Edgar Blochet est né à Bourges en 1870. Il entre en 1895 au département des manuscrits de la Bibliothèque nationale qu'il quittera en 1935, deux ans avant sa mort en 1937. Il rédige les catalogues des manuscrits arabes (acquisitions de 1884 à 1924), turcs et persans, ainsi que des descriptions des peintures et enluminures de manuscrits. Il est aussi l'auteur d'ouvrages sur l'art islamique et l'histoire des religions, et l'éditeur de textes. Son intérêt se portait surtout vers le monde iranien.
