La bibliothèque de Melchisédech Thévenot (1664-1672) a été vendue à des libraires et achetée par la Bibliothèque du roi en 1712. Les autres manuscrits arabes de la collection de M. Thévenot portent l'estampille Bibliothecae regiae en vigueur jusqu'à 1735, mais celui-ci porte une estampille de la Bibliothèque impériale (Second empire), 1852-1870. Il a pu être laissé à l'écart ou acquis après les autres., Provient d'une boîte conservée à la fin du fonds Arabe. Don 17-45.
