[ii]b-a1)., Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + 474 and i + 230 ; quires signed: 2-47 (volume 1) and 2-23 (volume 2) ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 21 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red., Description: Rubricated ; watermarks (shield with a face-in-the-moon and roman-alphabet letters "AG") ; MS in good condition., Decoration: Illuminated headpiece in green, blue, red, yellow (vol. 1, fol. [ii]b). Opening spread frame-ruled in lines of red and black. Opening page also has a wide line of blue on the outside edge (vol. 1, fol. [iib] and 1a)., Origin: According to colophon copy completed Thursday 22 Shaʻbān 1278 by Abū al-Ḥasan ibn ʻAbd al-Fattāḥ al-Ghālibī (volume 2, fol. 228b)., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى اله وصحبه وسلم الحمد لله الذي بين الاحكام ... وبعد فيقول فقير رحمه ربه ... محمد بن احمد الشهير بالصفتي الزينبى ..., Colophon: وکان الفراغ من کتابة هذه النسخة يوم الجمعة المبارك الموافق لاثنين وعشرين يوماً مضت من شهر شعبان المبارك سنة 1278 ثمان وسبعون ومائتين والف من الهجرة النبوية على صاحبها افضل الصلاة والسلام على يد الفقير ابي الحسن بن عبد الفتاح الغالبي غفرالله له ولوالديه ولمن کان سبباً في ذلك ولجميع المسلمين بمنه وکرمه امين تم | Contemporaneous type II (with flap) binding in red leather. Blind-tooled framing on covers and flap. Never sewn. Volume 2 also has a blind-stamped mandorla with pendants on covers and flap and green paper pastedowns with block-stamped design in yellow and black.
