ملاحظات ff. 341. 285 x 175; 220 x 125 mm. 25 lin. 15th cen.- 8 missing leaves at the beginning and 13 leaves at end suppl. by a later hand., Brockelmann, GAL, S I, 620 (commentary m - read: Cambr. 623)? - The title appears in the preface, fol. 1b penult., Incip.: ... الحمد لله ملأ السموات وملأ الارض ... وبعد فىقول المولى المعظم ... محمد بن الامام المظفر ... الخلخالى ... ان رئىس العلوم الدىنىة ورأسها ومبنى قواعد الاحکام الشرعىة واساسها علم الحدىث, A commentary with this title and incipit is attributed by ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, col. 1699 (=V, 566, lin. 9 Flügel) to al-ḥasan (ḥusayn ) ibn Maḥmūd al-Zaydānī (for mss. cf. Brockelmann, GAL, I, 448, commentary d, S I, 620; Chester Beatty no. 3752). al-Khalkhālī's commentary is mentioned by ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, I.c. ( = V, 565, lin. 9 Flügel) as bearing the title al-Tanwīr. Comparison of the beginning of kitāb al-nikāh of the present ms. (fol. 174a of the original foliation) with quotations from al-Zaydānī's commentary in the Berlin catalogue, no. 1290 shows a great similarity, but not identity.
